This PDF is a good way to record what needs to be done during your week
Day Grid Balancer is a place to write down the jobs that need doing
While we like using software to organise all the jobs that need doing (such as Task Coach), there is something about writing things down that software hasn't quite replaced. The Day Grid Balancer is a PDF document designed to be used to record jobs and the time spent doing them.
The download link will take you to the Day Grid Balancer homepage as there are several different versions to choose from. We use the A4 DGB01 Day Grid Balancer Version. Depending on how your browser is set up, it may open in the tab so you can print or save it to your desktop.
The left-hand side of the page has a section for each day with a collection of tick boxes by each. The idea is explained in in the full instructions.
These PDFs can be edited if you have the right software and the licence does allow you to, so long as you don't try and make money out the redesign. You will need some software that can edit PDF documents.
They were created using Adobe Illustrator CS4, but if that is outside of your budget, we have edited them using all recent versions of Xara, up to Photo and Graphic Design 7. At £70 it's a much cheaper alternative.
For example, I've used Xara to replace the Saturday and Sunday section with a grid of daily jobs that need doing.
It is also possible to edit the Day Grid Balancer using the free software Inkscape, though we did have some problems with fonts.
Even with editing, the Day Grid Balancer is an excellent productivity tool.
