Keep updated with social networks on your iPad with Hootsuite

The Hootsuite iPad app is a convenient way of keeping up to date with lots of different social networks without having to constantly switch between different tabs in Safari. The Hootsuite dashboard works quite well in Safari but the dedicated app is much easier to use.

Installation is simple using the App Store; the Downoad Now button will take you to the correct page.

Assuming you already have a Hootsuite account, setup is very simple – just add your username and password. The basic account costs nothing but if you want to work with several people on the same Facebook page for example, you will need to upgrade to the paid for account.

All of your Hootsuite tabs are automatically imported in the app and you can switch between them using the Settings tab. The width of columns can be adjusted to fit more or less into the available space.

Where the app version of Hootsuite really excels over the web page is just being very easy to check for updates, scroll a column beyond its most recent update and it will check for more updates.

Tapping on a Tweet or Facebook post opens a view with more information. This window can also be used to follow links or reply to messages.

Posting messages is also easy and the app can schedule updates for a particular time.
