Play one of the best Club Penguin games on your iPad
Puffle Launch is a fun iPad game
The social-networking site for children Club Penguin has plenty of games as well as opportunities to meet and chat with others. Puffle Launch is one of the best of these games and is now available for iOS devices such as iPad and iPhone as well as Android devices. Click here for more information about the different mobile versions.
We looked at the full version of Puffle Launch on the iPad. There is a Lite version that costs nothing but it's worth the extra £1 to go for the full game.
Puffles are the small cute pets that penguins can look after in Club Penguin. In this game a red puffle is fired from a variety of cannons to collect Puffle-O berries.
The skill in the game is to guide the Puffle through each level by guiding them through the air and to control the different cannons. Some cannons rotate by themselves and others can be rotated by dragging a finger on the screen.
The different controls are introduced gradually over the course of several levels with onscreen guides and animations to show how they work. Children will probably be familiar with Puffle Launch already and it's an easy transition.
As well as the challenge of directing your puffle in the right direction there are several obstables to negotiate including cactii and pianos. The sound effects here are very funny and mean that it isn't that frustrating when you hit one by accident and bounce widely off course.
Each level is completed by reaching the large Puffle-O but your performance is ranked on how many of the available Puffle-Os you are able to collect. This score is shown on the level selection page and a gold, silver or bronze marking awarded.
Every Puffle-O collected is worth a one coin, the in-game currency used on Club Penguin. It is possible to transfer these coins to Club Penguin by entering your username and password. We uploaded over a thousand coins in one go and afterwards coins were uploaded as every level was completed. Hopefully this will avoid the 2000-a-day limit found on the second Club Penguin game for the Nintendo DS.
