A comprehensive and easy to use app that can help you get in shape
The miCoach app for Android phones can help plan a workout routine
Adidas miCoach is one of the best free fitness application for Android. Aimed at keen runners, it uses GPS to track the smartphone owner's location and progress, providing real-time feedback on how well a particular routine is going.
At the same time, it can measure the distance of a run, the pace, the number of calories burned and the time taken.
It also links up with the miCoach website, so progress can be viewed alongside detailed information about exercise routines and analysis.
On first launch of the app you'll need to select a language and create a four-digit passcode. Also, if you don't have a miCoach account already, it is easy to create one.
The app requires some personal information such as date of birth, gender, height and weight. This helps the app work out how many calories you should burn during exercise. While it isn't totally accurate, it is a 'best guess' estimate.
The app has voice coaches, including some famous names, to help you along the way. There are various different workouts that can be tailored to your needs. Using the miCoach website alongside the app helps get the most out of it.
At a total cost of no pounds and no pence, this is easily the best and most comprehensive fitness app available on Android. There's also an iPhone version too.
