Don't give up on deleted files as File Recovery may be able to bring them back
Recover deleted files with PC Inspector File Recovery
Deleting a file doesn't remove it forever. While that can sometimes pose a security or privacy problem, it's good news for anyone who has accidently deleted an important document or photo and wants to get it back. PC Inspector File Recovery can scan disks for deleted files and recover them.
File Recovery can find and restore files of a wide variety of formats, even if the normally important header entry has been removed. The full list includes: avi, bmp, doc, xls, exe, gif, html, jpg, mp3, pdf, png, tif and zip.
It is important to start File Recovery using the Run as administrator option, otherwise it won't have the right access to the hard disk. Right-click on the icon on the Desktop or Start menu and then left-click on Run as administrator. The User Account Control window will appear. Either click on yes or enter an administrator user's password to continue.
Select English and click on the green tick. The window that appears explains the various steps needed to recover files. Click on the top tab on the left and File Recovery will scan the hard disks connected to the computer. Select the logical drive with the files you want to recover and click on the green tick. File Recovery will now scan for deleted files.
Any files that are found are then displayed in the main part of the window, arranged in the folders that they used to be in. Right-click on a file to save it. This should ideally be to a different disk to the one being scanned otherwise you risk overwriting other deleted files.
The program is not the easiest we have seen to use, but the help file is fairly well-written and describes several different situations for recovering files.
