Where's Wally HD - The Fantastic Journey even has a multiplayer game on the iPad
Where's Wally, an engrossing challenge on paper and a method used by my dentist to distract nervous patients, is now on the iPad. Gratifyingly, it isn't just a simple succession of photos but a proper game with a sense of progression. There are twelve worlds to complete, each with a variety of challenges.
The first challenge is to find Wally, Wandy and the Wizard in the map. Once they are found there is a selection of other characters and items to find in the level, one of which is described in words rather than an image. It isn't necessary to search the whole map as only a section of the map can be viewed at a time.
This shouldn't lead you to think that this is an easy game as there is a time limit in each level. The count down timer has five stars that are lost as the time runs out. Finding a character or item gains time and stars but if fewer than three stars are left it is not possible to move on to the next level.
While it is frustrating not to complete a level the first time round it does at least keep the game interesting and there are other challenges on the levels such as catching the evil Oddball.
A party mode offers a multiplayer option for two people at once. The screen is divided in two with separate screens and items to find. A tug of war between two teams shows who is winning so you have to keep finding things first.
For the amount of entertainment on offer from this app, £2 seems very reasonable. You'll also want to be connected to the internet with Wifi to install this app as it weighs in at 567MB.
