The home page is a little better than the National Trust app as you can select between finding places near your current location, searching by entering a keyword or by selecting the kind of day out you want and region. There is lots of information about properties. You can check opening times and prices as well as specific information about the facilities on offer. The Maps and directions section offers information for driving or travelling by train and bus and can plan a route in the map app.
Each property also has a photo gallery that gives a good idea of what is on offer.

Although there is no way to tweet about an individual event, the social media options for properties is much better than the National Trust app. You can share the property on Facebook and Twitter, check in to Facebook Places and Foursquare and email property details.
Properties can be added to your favourites, which have their own tab on the home screen.
English Heritage Days Out can also be downloaded for iPhone and iPad here.
