On installation we were asked if were happy to share information about how we used the app, we could accept, decline or more info. We were then asked to pick a ‘preferred store', so in our case the one nearest our home address. It is also possible to reserve items at the nearest store
Once configured, the app is a basic and easy to use online store. There are extensive product descriptions and reviews from other shoppers. When we found an item we liked we could reserve it for collection at the store we selected when we first set up the app.
Another useful feature allowed us to check if an item was in stock at our local store using its catalogue number.
The only minor annoyance was its tendancy to crash or stall on occasion.
Shopping apps are rarely the most exciting things, but the Argos one does exactly what it needs to – it makes finding what you want easy and quick.
