Installation is simple and it integrates into Windows Explorer so files can be uploaded using the right click menu.
There is a short tour in the Help menu that covers all the different aspects of the program.
Documents can be found online in a browser on the Amazon website.
Uploading documents is simple. Amazon Cloud integrates into the Send To tool in Windows. Right-click on a document and then left-click on Send To to see the option to upload it. Otherwise documents can be dragged and dropped onto the Amazon Cloud icon in the Notification Area.
5GB is fairly reasonable for a free account and can be expanded for a monthly cost. These prices compare very well to alternative services. For example 20GB for £6 a year and 100GB for £32 a year.
Unfortunately, the Amazon Cloud software is lot more basic than alternatives from the likes of Dropbox or SpiderOak. It cannot synchronise folders so it isn't really a convenient tool for online back up. We were also unable to find any way of sharing files with other Amazon Cloud users.
If you need a place to store files that are rarely updated, the Amazon Cloud is convenient with a decent amount of space, but anyone with more demanding needs should look to the alternatives mentioned above.
