Installation is simple through the Google Play Store and the basic interface is easy to use. Tap on the colours to match what you see on the resistor and the display will show the value and the tolerance.
The app is ad supported so there is a slim bar with adverts that appears at the bottom of the screen.
There are more options available through the menu. This app doesn't have a button to access its menu so you will need to use the hardware button on your device.
The menu lets you switch between 3, 4, 5 and 6 band resistors and the reverse color code mode.
The reverse color mode is most useful when you are shopping for resistors for a particular project. Enter resistor value that you want to find, along with the tolerance and the app will show the colours that you need. Some common resistor values have model numbers beginning with E such as E48, and this will also be displayed if you select such a value.
It's a shame that the extra tools are hidden in the menu but Resistor Color Code is a useful app for working on electronics projects.
