New Webroot Internet Security Complete 2011, due July 26th, to include online synchronisation between PCs and a search result scanner

Webroot will soon launch a new version of its Internet Security suite that includes online storage, synchronisation between multiple computers and a browser toolbar that marks dangerous websites in search engine lists.

Webroot Internet Security Complete 2011 includes a new "Sync & Sharing" section that allows users to mark files that should be copied to the company's online storage space. Folders can also be marked to be synchronised with other computers running the suite, which will be available in three- and five-PC versions.

Files in the online storage space can also be accessed from other computers via the Webroot website.

Other new features in the suite include a toolbar that marks search results as "Known threat", "Safe Site" or "Unclassified" according to the company's online reputation databases. Unknown sites are scanned immediately should the user choose to visit them, and a warning is displayed if an unsafe site is chosen.

This kind of result scanning could help to protect against so-called SEO poisoning attacks.

Another browser toolbar allows users to store website user and password information in their online account, then automatically complete the relevant forms on websites. Password data is secured with 256-bit encryption on the server. Both toolbars support the Internet Explorer (v6 or above) and Firefox 3 browsers.

The suite also includes anti-virus protection, using technology from Sophos, as well as Webroot's own anti-spyware protection.

Two versions of the suite will be available: Webroot Internet Security Complete includes a three-PC license and 10GB of online storage space for £49.99, while a Premium version exclusive to Dixons-group stores supports five PCs with 15GB of storage for £59.99. Additional online storage space will be available up to 100GB as an upgrade.

Both versions will be available in the UK from the 26th of July.
