The new owner of Rock Computers has pledged to support all existing warranties and to continue selling notebooks under the Rock brand.

Rock went into administration on 8 May after cashflow difficulties forced it to stop trading. Today it was announced that the Stone Group, which sells computers to the public sector, has acquired the firm's trade and assets.

A representative for the company told Computeractive that it "will honour any existing warranties on Rock notebooks and PCs”.

Computers will continue to be sold under the Rock brand. Stone has traditionally sold computers to schools and the emergency services, but the spokesperson confirmed that it will now sell Rock computers to the public.

Rock’s former chief executive, Nick Boardman, will join Stone as director of its mobile technology division.

"It is vital that customers’ historic warranties will be supported going forward," he said.
