Two more internet service providers (ISPs) are rolling out landline phone services further loosening BT’s overall dominance of the communications market.

Zen Internet, has launched its new telephone line services, Home Talk and Business Talk so its customer can now choose to have one deal with it.

The company won’t charge most customers a fee to transfer an existing telephone line to its service and inline with its broadband services and has a minimum one-month contract for the landline services.

The Home Talk range includes the Premium Plus package, which includes 1,000 inclusive minutes per month to UK landlines at anytime of the day.

Be Broadband has also announced the pricing for its own landline services, which will be launched soon. Be landline contracts will be tied to the length of broadband contracts and line rental starts from £9.50 a month for the basic package.

The internet service provider (ISP) also said contracts will not be automatically renewed without customer consent.

The ISP has also launched online guides to improving broadband speeds, which cover three key areas, router setup, internal home wiring and use of the master socket, that can be tweaked without technical expertise.

The guides are available as downloadable PDFs or in three videos available on the Be website.
