Broadcaster hopes to bowl viewers over
Cricket fans can watch England’s first Nat West one-day international match against Bangladesh in 3D courtesy of Sky.
The match on 8 July will be broadcast to over 1,000 pubs and clubs and other venues in the UK and Ireland.
Jimmy Anderson, England pace bowler said: “I’ve seen Sky 3D and it’s a phenomenal viewing experience. I can’t wait to see what I and the rest of the lads look like in 3D on 8 July!”
Sky, which has been testing 3D content for two years, has already broadcast live sports events in 3D; starting with the Arsenal versus Manchester United football match on 31 January this year.
This was followed by the Guinness Premiership Final in May and then three major sporting finals across two sports on 22 May 2010.
Later in the year, Sky subscribers will be given access to a channel containing the broadcaster’s 3D content which includes movies, sport, documentaries, entertainment and arts content.
