BT extends bandwidth guidelines for Total Broadband services

Prices stay the same whilst bandwidth rises

BT has increased the amount its Total Broadband customers can now download.

Effective immediately, the new usage caps reflect the growing need for people to have not only high speed connections but less restrictions on the amount of data they download.

The cap for BT’s Option 1 priced at £10 a month, is going up from 2GB to 5GB and the cap for Option 2, which costs £15 a month, is rising from 6GB to 8GB.

The 40 GB caps for consumers on the £23 per month Option 3 service has been removed to allow unlimited downloads.

“We decided to give our customers better broadband services because we have come to recognise the increasing need for downloading applications that require large bandwidth.

“Broadband is an integral part of everyday life and we hope with these new services people will be able to utilise it more efficiently, said a spokesman for BT.
