Access Skype on the move with new range of memory keys
The Cruzer Micro and Cruzer Titanium USB keys from Sandisk now come with the Skype service installed and ready for making phone calls over the internet.
Skype does not need to be installed separately on a computer, as everything that is needed is supplied on the USB key.
The Skype service stores all of the contacts and other information centrally so that they are available wherever the software is being used. The difference with this installation of Skype is that program preferences are saved on the USB key rather than the computer running it.
The USB keys are also supplied with AVAST anti-virus software.
The Cruzer Micro range includes capacities of between 512Mb and 4Gb. Prices start at £16 for the 512Mb version, and increase to £100 for the 4Gb model.
The Cruzer Titanium is designed to be especially rugged and Sandisk claim that it can resist being crushed by weights of up to 2,000lbs. The 1Gb model costs £35 and the 2Gb £60.
Both ranges are U3 USB keys, which are designed to run programs as well as store files. A full selection of compatible software can be found on the U3 website.
