Uswitch compares 'free' broadband deals

Chow down at Uswitch table of 'free' deals

Price comparison service, Uswitch has launched a service that should help demystify some of the latest 'free' packages offered by internet service providers (ISPs).

As the competition for broadband market share intensifies, ISPs are offering a plethora of services to woo consumers. Already Virgin , Sky, Carphone Warehouse and Orange have offered 'free' broadband deals.

But they usually come with some kind of proviso. The Uswitch.com service and 'free broadband' table gives consumers a way of evaluating and comparing these services.

Alternatively, you can call Freephone 0800 0930 607 if you don't have an internet connection or want more information.

Consumers can then assess which package would suit their individual needs based on the speed required; contract length and price.

Chris Williams, broadband product manager at Uswitch.com, commented: "With the different 'free' broadband offers available it can be hard to decide which package would be best. Our service should help ensure consumers get the best deal by assessing whether they require a mobile contract, satellite television or a new landline.

"We try to respond to consumer demand and I believe this comparison table is a valuable addition to the services we already provide on our website.

"Currently providers offer 'free' broadband, but this could increase further as more suppliers look to compete in this area."

This latest service adds to the comprehensive calculators already available on the Uswitch site for digital TV, broadband and home telephone providers to ensure consumers can get the very best deals.
