Lexmark adds to printer range

Wireless devices compatible with Windows Vista and Apple Macs

Lexmark has added four inkjet printers to its 2007 range.

The single function Z1520 and all-in-one X7550, X4850 and X6570 models are all 802.11b/g/n wireless enabled and compatible with Windows Vista and Apple Macs.

They come with come with automatic double-sided printing features and a memory stick reader, which allows users to produce digital pictures directly from the printer without having to load them onto a computer.

All four also have a borderless picture function and use Lexmark’s evercolour2 ink, which the company claims is water resistant. Lexmark said the ink is fade resistant and will last up to 100 years in a photo frame and 200 years in an album.

The X7750 and X6570 have fax and scanning capabilities and an auto feeder that will take up to 25 pages a minute.

The X6750 is claimed to print up to 28 pages per a minute (ppm) for black and white and 24ppm for colour. The X7750, which also comes with a 2.4 inch LCD screen for editing and viewing pictures, is said to print up to 30ppm for black and white and 27ppm for colour.

The Z1520, which is similar to its Z1420 predecessor, which orginally cost £59.99, is now a hefty £119. Lexmark has said the price hike is because “it has better ink and a better card reader”. It has also put the increase down to it being an “exclusive to Argos.”

The X7550 fax, £169.99 and the X4850 and X6570 will sell for £129 and £129 respectively

As part of its 2007 range Lexmark is also offering a 20 per cent discount on new evercolour2 ink cartridges, which will cost from £13 if the old ones are sent back for recycling; Lexmark sends out a prepaid bag.
