Sony launches "smallest HD camcorder"

Quality without quantity for Sony cam

Sony has launched what it claims is the smallest high-definition (HD) camcorder.

The HDR-TG1 Handycam measures 7x2.5in and comes with a 2.7in LCD touchscreen.

It can take four-megapixel still shots and records HD video directly to Sony Memory Stick. The camcorder also includes face-detection technology for video and stills.

This is said to identify up to eight faces in a frame and automatically adjust focus, exposure and colour. UK prices are yet to be announced.
