Google has launched a new feature that allows users to view and control the data associated with their Google account.

The Google Dashboard, offers a summary of the data in all the Google products being used, such as email, chat messages and attachments. The new application can also save users online search with a Web History feature

Alma Whitten, Software Engineer on Privacy and Safety said: "We think of this as a great step towards giving people transparency and control over their data, and we hope this helps shape the way the industry thinks about these issues.

"It's important for people to be aware of what data they have online and to be able to manage that data--Google Dashboard should help to make this a reality."

Google Dashboard is currently available in 17 languages and can be accessed either through the dashboard page or the settings page of the user's Google Account.
