Toshiba launches tiny 100GB hard disk

Digital cameras to get better memories

Toshiba has launched the first 100GB 1.8-inch hard disk drive, to be used in devices such as digital cameras and mp3 players.

Delivering 100GB across two disk platters, the MK1011GAH has been made to support portable devices which demand increased storage capabilities.

It uses the new ATA-7 interface that delivers a data transfer rate of 100MBits/sec. The Low Insertion Force (LIF) connector also supports the drive's smaller form factor without inhibiting the performance of the hard disk to its hosting device.
