Microsoft has added a music download service to its mobile website.

MSN Mobile Music is available across all the UK mobile networks. It gives users access to a catalogue of one million music tracks and 25,000 mobile phone ringtones as well as 10,000 music videos from record labels such as Sony, EMI and Warner Music.

Music tracks cost £1.50, ringtones £3 and music videos £2. People on a pay-monthly contract will see the charges on their phone bill. Those on pay as you go will have the costs taken from their balance.

Hugh Griffiths, director at MSN Mobile UK, said: “With over 130 handsets having access to the music store from day one, this is an exciting proposition that for the first time provides consumers a network agnostic service with a vast array of new and old music from major music labels.”

To access the service consumers can enter www.msn.co.uk into their phone internet browser and select the music service from the menu. Alternatively they can text MSN to 63463, they will then be sent a link to the service.
