Portable media player has built-in camcorder
Archos has launched a portable multimedia player with a built-in camcorder for viewing and recording video.
The 404 Camcorder has 30GB of memory which can be used to store music, photos and video footage, which can then be uploaded onto the internet, played back on the unit’s 3.5in colour screen or be connected to a TV.
It also includes a 1.3-megapixel camera, and can display track, artist, album, and album covers and is also compatible with music online stores.
For an additional £70 users can also get a DVR Station accessory which turns the device into a portable digital video recorder (DVR). By using this, users can record films and programmes directly from television or DVD straight onto the device.
The Archos 404 Camcorder comes with headphones, a USB cable, DVR saddle for connecting the optional DVR recorder, and protective pouch. It is priced at £250.
