MSN brings in new email domain names

Hotmail users can now choose to personalize their Hotmail accounts and help charity with .co.uk email domains.

By offering UK domain, MSN has opened up hundreds of thousands of names to Hotmail account holders. At the same time, MSN has snapped up some of what it considers will be the most popular names and will auction these for the as part of Microsoft and MSN?s Decade of Difference appeal to mark 10 years of partnership with the charity.

People can bid for MSN?s specially selected "Cherished Names", a list of over 50 of some of the most popular and topical names in the UK, including the nation?s current top five most popular boys? and girls? names and, film and comic book characters.

MSN has also brought in a new photo upload tool to make it easier for people to send and enjoy photos. The new photo tool allows people to find, select, resize and attach multiple photos with a simple one-step tool. The tool is available for all Hotmail accounts worldwide.

People can bid for any of the names up for auction at www.msn.co.uk/NewHotmail. The auction for the names will be held over the next 10 days and the link will show all the ?Hotmail Cherished Names? available which includes Emily, Ellie, Chloe, Jessica and Sophie for girls and Jack, Oliver, Thomas, Benjamin and Daniel for boys. MSN has also grabbed the names santa@hotmail.co.uk, fatherchristmas and Rudolf, JamesBond, Superman Spiderman and Batman.

MSN has teamed up with eBay for the auction so potential bidders can see the current price and number of bids. MSN said every penny, of every successful bid goes direct to the NSPCC.
