Mobango has increased the amount of storage space available to its users and added social-networking tools to its user-generated content site.

The mobile based social-networking site is now giving users of its 'Wap locker' 1GB of storage space which gives people the opportunity to store more videos, wallpapers, pictures, ringtones prior to downloading this content onto their phone.

The social-networking tools added to the site include internal messaging groups that enable users to find and manage friends, create private groups and share content via their mobile phones.

Although all content on the site is free for users to share, they do have to pay mobile service providers' charges if they wish to upload or download anything onto their phones.

The cost of this varies from contract and service provider - T-Mobile, for example, has a tariff that allows users to download a certain amount of content per month.

However, those who want to keep costs down can share downloaded Mobango content via a Bluetooth connection.
