Carphone Warehouse stocking no-thrills mobile phone.
A mobile phone priced at just 99p is now available in the UK.
Made by Alcatel, the OT-209 is a no-frills device that will cost less than a loaf of bread. The catch? The buyer has to put £10 credit on it initially as part of the deal. The phone is available now from Carphone Warehouse.
The OT-209 has a built-in FM radio and mobile games. The manufacturer says that it is a 'simple, lightweight phone that makes it easy to stay in touch'.
The price-point certainly opens up the idea of a 'disposable' mobile phones, with it expected to be popular as a back-up phone or for use in emergencies.
