Crucial offers Vista memory check-up

See whether a PC needs to be upgraded for next edition of Windows

Memory manufacturer Crucial Technology has unveiled its Windows Vista memory scanner.

The 'Am I Vista Ready?' scanner is available online from the company's website. It takes a reading of the amount of memory installed in the computer on which it would be run, and advises whether or not this is likely to be enough for Vista.

The new version of the Windows operating system is due out early in 2007, and is expected to be more power-hungry than its predecessor, Windows XP.
