Two lenses in one will give a third dimension to photos
Panasonic has announced that it is to launch a 3D lens for its Lumix-G series of compact cameras.
Although some cameras can already create 3D images using a single lens, they rely on the user moving the camera and effectively taking two photos from two positions.
Panasonic's new lens, which will fit on Lumix-G series cameras such as the Lumix DMC-G2 and DMC-GF1, uses two separate lenses, spaced slightly apart, to take the two images simultaneously.
Similar accessories have already been produced for full-sized SLR cameras. The lens will be on sale before the end of 2010, with a price yet to be announced.
