People can now receive up-to-date traffic information through their social networking profile.

The Tomtom HD Traffic Widget can be downloaded free to Facebook, Bebo and iGoogle. It can also be installed on a blog page.

Once installed, the widget can be personalised to give information on the latest traffic delays on people’s routes or in their region. This is displayed in minutes and miles.

Corinne Vigreux, managing director of Tomtom, said: "Tomtom's HD Traffic information has been personalised so it can be added easily to users' favourite web pages, providing continuous updates of the latest traffic situation at a glance."

The widget is available from the Tomtom website.
