Use Apple's iPhone as an in-car navigation device
The Tomtom European car kit for Apple iPhones has now gone on sale, allowing iPhone owners to use them as in-car navigation devices.
Tomtom said the kit provides not only a safe driving environment but also improved navigation. Features include an adjustable mount that can be moved into the best position for the driver; either on the windscreen or dashboard.
The built-in GPS receiver reduces the chance of signal drop-out in areas where reception is limited, for example in built-up or rural areas.
The built-in loud speaker allows the driver to hear navigational directions clearly and the microphone has been designed to make it easy to make or receive hands-free calls while driving.
The Tomtom car kit also charges the iPhone while on the go and will play music through a car stereo’s Aux Out port.
The device is on sale at Tomtom’s webstore or the Apple online store priced £99.99.

Very expensive
£100 plus the £60 cost for the application makes this a very expensive option for the iPhone. You could go and buy the TomTom One and still have at least £10 change in your pocket. There are many complaints abut the TomTom app at the App store and many persons have said CoPilot works much better on the iPhone without the need for this expensive add on and best of all only costs £26.00.
