Music streaming service launches new limited service and £5 per month advert-free option
Music streaming service Spotify has revamped its range of accounts and is once again allowing new users to sign up and listen at no cost.
Previously, the company has altered between offering open access to its free service and limiting it to those with invitations only.
Under the new scheme users can sign up for Spotify Open, which allows them to stream music at no cost, but with adverts, for up to 20 hours each month.
The company has also introduced Spotify Unlimited, which removes the time restriction and adverts for a fee of £5 per month. Spotify Premium, which also allows users to listen on the move using an iPhone, iPod Touch or Android mobile phone, is still available at £10 per month.
The company is also continuing its Free service, which offers unlimited listening with adverts, for those with existing accounts or invitations.
Spotify recently revamped its PC software to include integration with Facebook and the ability to list music stored on the user's computer.
