Power outage causes delays in receiving emails and blocks access to popular sites
Talktalk Broadband customers have been experiencing problems with emails and website browsing after the company suffered a power outage at the weekend.
On its website the company, owned by the Carphone Warehouse, said: "There is an ongoing issue with Talktalk email services; some users will be getting delays in receiving emails and there are potential issues logging into Webmail."
Yesterday the company also admitted its servers had been blocked from accessing several popular websites, such as Ebay, Paypal and Hotmail.
Today a representative for Talktalk said the problems were a 'knock-on effect' from a 30-minute power outage that affected the firm's servers in Manchester on Saturday.
He said the problems with emails were being classed as 'high priority' and it was working with websites to remove blocks.
However, he was unable to say when normal services would resume.
The company said it would not be issuing refunds for the problems but would consider complaints on a 'case-by-case' basis.

First decent communication regarding the problem
I have experienced problems since Saturday and communications on Talktalk telephone enquiries and outage website have been of poor quality. Some sort of explanation and possible timescales would be appreciated so possible alternative communication methods can be established. These things happen but they must be as open as possible.

Devon Talktalk outage since 10th Feb
My BB outage began on th 10th Feb 2009 and to top it I have lost phone service since the 17th Feb 2009. Talktalk have not responded even after sending the report a problem email every day each for broadband and phone service. I am begining to think talktalk are failing to respond as the problem accross the UK is bigger than they care to admit.

Telephone failure
I have reported in the past the inability of my phone to receive incoming calls. Today and particularly last night I was called 3 times with regard to plane tickets for Australia. The inability of the agant to get through may mean that the flight has been altered or some other important problem. If things turn out badly then I shall have to take action against talk talk for failure to deliver the service they promised
