Broadcaster reneges on decision to reject Project Canvas
Less than two months after leaving Project Canvas, Channel 5 has rejoined the BBC-backed, video on-demand service.
The broadcaster’s new owner, Richard Desmond reversed the decision taken by the channel’s previous owner, RTL, in June and said Project Canvas was “set to shape the future of broadcasting".
Other partners in the project include ITV, BT, Channel 4 and Talk Talk. Project Canvas, which will bring VoD to Freeview and Freesat, is expected to launch next year, and will be called You View.
