Simple clear advice in plain English

CPP makes shopping online a safer bet.

When you shop online, it's best to use a credit card - but even then, you're only protected against problems if you're spending over £100. If your card details are compromised, most companies will expect you to pay the first £50 anyway and since most online purchases are for smaller items, like books and CDs, then your chances of compensation if something does go wrong are slight.Step forward CPP - the card protection company that lets you cancel all your stolen or lost cards with a single phone call. Its new scheme, called e-shopsafe, provides complete insurance against any fraud that occurs as a result of using a debit or credit card online, anywhere in the world. You can protect up to six cards for a yearly payment of £10.The company believes e-shopsafe will offer customers peace of mind and is aimed at the 42 per cent of net users who fear online fraud. If you fall into that category, there's just one fly in the ointment - the only way to sign up is online. That means you'll have to type all the details of all your cards into a web browser.www.e-shopsafe.co.uk.
