Gamers urged to download XP patch

Windows pain stops play

Windows XP gamers have been advised to download and install a patch to stop hackers spoiling their fun.

The patch fixes a flaw that could allow other users to send data to the PC in mid-game that would crash the computer.

Microsoft is advising customers to install two new patches, one for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, and another which involves how Visual Studio .Net 2003, Outlook 2003 and Customer Relationship Management 1.2 work with the Crystal Reports web viewer.

Both are rated of 'moderate' importance, and Microsoft said that customers "should consider" applying the patches.

The patches can be downloaded here.
