Bullyproof BBC site helps users of social-networking sites find advice on how to safeguard themselves
The major social networking sites used by children in the UK have signed up to Radio 1 and 1Xtra's six week anti-bullying season.
Bebo, Facebook, Habbo, MSN, Myspace and Youtube are joining forces for the first time to try and tackle online bullying by implementing special measures and advice on their sites.
A special BBC website has also been created to support the campaign and give advice on handling bullying.
The site also helps users of social networking sites find facts and advice on how to safeguard themselves. Advice ranges from simple guides for managing security settings to blocking users.
The site also contains a video featuring confidence tips and advice from celebrities such as The Saturdays and Alesha Dixon.
Audience and online communities can show their support for the Bullyproof campaign and help spread the word across social networks by displaying the specially created Bullyproof emblem.
Supporters will be able to use this on their various social network profiles and pages and help spread the word of 'bullyproof'.
