Nine-camera range covers all budgets from £70 to £400
Nikon has lifted the lid on a new range of cameras that will be hitting store shelves in the coming weeks.
Nine new cameras have been announced, ranging in price from £70 right the way up to £400. The cameras make up Nikon's Coolpix, with the company saying the new line-up will have "something for everyone".
The lowest priced mode, the Coolpix L23, will retail for £70 when it goes on sale on 24 February and come in five colours: blue, red, black, pink and silver. The 10.1-megapixel camera is powered by AA batteries and has an 'Easy Auto' mode for taking pictures quickly without the need to change any settings.
Elsewhere, the S range of cameras, priced between £130 and £200 has touchscreen controls and a slimmer, more compact design. A more expensive model, the S9100, can take super telephoto pictures and has a wide-angle lens.
The two most expensive compact cameras in the new line-up, the Coolpix P300 and P500, which go on sale in March priced at £300 and £400 respectively, are aimed to those "passionate about photography" that still want to use a compact camera.
Speaking about the new cameras, Sander van Velzen, product manager for consumer products at Nikon Europe, said: "Whichever you choose, you can be assured that all of these cameras provide the quality that Nikon is known for to help produce the best images as easily as possible."
