Two e-ink readers and an Android model expected to arrive soon
Peripheral manufacturer Pocketbook is to bring three ebook reader models to the UK later in 2011.
The Ukrainian company announced the devices at Cebit. The Pocketbook 603 has a 6in screen and can access Bluetooth devices, wireless networks and even the 3G mobile phone networks. It is expected to cost €200 (£169) when it goes on sale later this year.
A 9in model, the Pocketbook 902 can connect to wireless networks and Bluetooth devices, and will cost €300 (£254). Both it and the Pocketbook 603 use e-ink screens, similarly to most ebook readers such as the Amazon Kindle.
The 7in Pocketbook 701, on the other hand, uses a TFT LCD screen similar to that on a mobile phone, and willl run a full version of the Android operating system. It has 256MB of memory, a memory card reader, mini-USB port and headphone socket, and will cost €159 (£134).
