The latest version of Microsoft's web browser will be released at 4am on Tuesday
Microsoft's new Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) web browser will be available for UK users to download from Tuesday 15 March.
The announcement comes after Microsoft launched a website aimed at stopping people from using the aged Internet Explorer 6.
The pre-release version of IE9 has been available to download since February, and on 1 March web-browser tracker Net Market Share said it had been downloaded 36 million times, giving it 0.66 per cent of the worldwide browser market.
IE9 will include additional support for the latest version of HTML, HTML5, which can include video and audio in web pages without the need for extra plug-ins.
Microsoft also said it will allow users to better protect themselves online by using a feature called 'tracking protection'. This will allow users to control how they share their information online and decide how much of their information can be accessed by certain websites.
The browser will be released at 9pm Pacific time on the 14 March - that's 4am on Tuesday 15 March for anyone in the UK.
