Android device can be tested for 30 days at no charge
Viewsonic Europe is offering people the chance to try out its Viewpad 7 tablet PC and if they aren't satisfied, send it back for a full refund.
The Android 2.2 device comes with integrated phone capabilities, Bluetooth, wireless, GPS and MP3/video playback.
Viewsonic said there was nothing to prevent an upgrade to Gingerbread, the next Android operating system if it becomes available for the device.
The Try for Free campaign only applies to tablets bought from affiliated retailers, such as Ebuyer, Amazon and Maplin. All the affiliated retailers' names are on the campaign website.
The campaign will run from today through to 30 April 2011 and consumers attending the Gadget Show at the Birmingham NEC between 13-17 April can also buy one of the tablets from Viewsonic's stand.
James Coulson, European marketing manager, Viewsonic, said: "There are many people that have heard about the new Tablet trend but for various reasons have not yet dived in. Working with Google, we want people to have a good first Tablet experience, risk free.
"Customers taking up the offer can use our devices for 30 days free in order to overcome any initial learning curves and really start to appreciate the potential of Android on a great device. The Viewpad 7 is a perfect start into the world of touch technology."
It is a good offer giving people longer than the Distance Selling Regulations (DSRs) require in which to try out this tablet.
But people should be aware; a full refund does not include the original delivery costs as would be the legal requirement under the DSRs; only the cost of the device, which retails for around £300.
However, Viewsonic promises to refund returns costs up to £10 which in effect offsets the delivery cost refund given by consumer law.
People should also read the terms and conditions carefully. Anyone who wishes to return a tablet, must fill in a claim form within 20 days, must also keep original packaging and include a copy of their receipt.
These terms and conditions will not apply if someone wants to reject a device because it is faulty or if they wish to return under the Distance Selling Regulations.
