BT site lets people raise funds for their favourite charities

BT has launched a subscription-free not for profit online fundraising service for charitable donations.

According to BT, as well as not charging a subscription, MyDonate will also not take any set-up fees or commission. The company said this guarantees that 100 per cent of all monies donated, minus any credit or debit card charges, go directly to the charity a person has chosen.

It also said this makes it the first not-for-profit fundraising service to do this.

Fundraisers can build and customise their own event pages in support of their chosen charities, as well as link to social-networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter.

By doing this, it can help promote their fundraising events. BT said it will be simple to use and people will be protected because it ensures any donations are transferred securely.
