Use the Philips 221TE2L PC monitor to watch high-quality television
The new Philips 221TE2L PC monitor has a built-in TV tuner that can process both analogue VGA and HDMI signals, which means you can watch TV programmes on the monitor.
The 21.5 in monitor has a full HD LCD LED display with a resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels. Philips said the technology guarantees natural colours and its Smart Contrast technology means users can see a lot of detail, even if the scenes they are watching are dark.
A Smart Image feature ensures the picture on the screen is always the right quality, while Smart Sound chooses the most suitable mode to use for ideal sound reproduction.
The company said that with the digital TV signals received via the DVB-T tuner, using the 221TE2L, which costs £209, means it is easy to switch between TV and the web. However unlike the rest of Europe it can't access HD TV on this tuner as the UK only broadcasts HD on DVB-T2.
A 19in model, the 191TE2 is due to come on the market in June; although prices have yet to be set.
