No comeback for gaming PC builder Cube
Cube 24/7, a builder of powerful gaming PCs has gone into liquidation.
At the end of May, PR Booth & Co was appointed liquidator for the company registered as Cube Enterprises Ltd.
However, unlike Mesh, where the administrator found a buyer for some of the firm's assets, Cube will not continue trading in any form and its website is now offline.
PR Booth, which held a meeting of creditors on 9 June, told us that it knew a number of customers had paid for PCs but not received them. But it said although these people could write to it and lodge a claim it was unlikely they would see any money from any of Cube's assets.
"There is no prospect of a dividend as there were no funds in the company's account," PR Booth told us.
It advised those people who had paid by credit card to make a claim under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Even if a person has paid even a minimal amount for goods with a credit card, the issuing bank is liable for the whole of the transaction.
For example, a consumer paying just £1 of the purchase price on a credit card and the balance another way can make a claim for the full amount against the credit card company.
People who have paid using a Visa debit card may also be able to get a full refund under the Visa Chargeback scheme but must check the terms and conditions of their issuing bank.
Mastercard users may have some protection but must check the terms and conditions with their issuing bank. Further details can be obtained from Phil Booth or Neil Marshall on enquiriew@prboothandco.co.uk or phone 01924 263777.
