Kaspersky has announced a new security-software suite that will protect Windows devices, Apple Mac and Android smartphones and tablets.

The product is aimed at people who own more than one device and want security protection from online threats. The product comes with an option to protect up to three or five devices, which can be any combination of PCs, Macs, tablets and smartphones.

The smartphone protection will cover Blackberry, Android and Windows Mobile, but Apple's iOS will not be covered by the software. This Mobile Security smartphone software includes several anti-theft features. Users will be able to lock-down, remotely wipe, or pinpoint a device via GPS if that device is ever lost or stolen.

Kaspersky said these anti-theft features will be added to the Kaspersky Tablet Security product early in 2012. The company said the smartphone and tablet products have also been optimized for screen resolutions, processing power and memory consumption.

If a user has run out of licences but wishes to install the protection on another product, such as a new phone, or an upgrade, they simply remove the software from the original device and reinstall it on the new one.

At its annual Security Symposium in Munich, Kaspersky said that the threat to devices like smartphones and tablets was growing quickly. The company said that it had seen a 65 per cent growth in mobile malware since 2009.

Eugene Kaspersky, CEO and co-founder of Kaspersky Lab said: "In today's world it's vital to ensure your digital devices are secure against cybercrime. And as new devices come on the market, we'll be there to secure them too."

Kaspersky One is due to launch in the UK on 17 October. One-year licences will cost £59.99 for three devices and £79.99 for five devices.
