Second HTC smartphone to use technology to optimise music output
HTC's latest smartphone, the Sensation XL, is specifically targeted at people who use their phones for listening to music.
The smartphone manufacturer has incorporated hip-hop music producer Dr Dre's ‘Beats Audio' technology into the device, which optimises audio performance.
This is the second HTC smartphone to use the technology; the first, the Sensation XE came on the market in August. The Sensation XL model has a 4.7in screen.
Jimmy Iovine, chairman of Beats by Dr Dre and chairman and chief executive of Interscope Geffen A&M Records, a division of Universal Music Group and a stakeholder in Beats, said using the technology in HTC phones "represents a critical step in our continued mission to clean up the destruction of audio caused by the digital revolution; and reengineer how sound is delivered so that the consumer feels the music the way that the artist intended."
