The catch is the person has to be on a 30Mbits/sec service or above
The deal between Virgin Media and Spotify has been sealed with the internet service provider offering the streaming music service to its broadband and mobile customers.
New customers on the company's 30 Mbs/sec or above services will get the £9.99 Spotify Premium service free for six months as will those renewing their contract. Broadband customers who sign up for a monthly contract for a Virgin Mobile will get the same free service for three months; with no data charges.
The company said an app for the Virgin Media Tivo box will be launched in the next few weeks so the service can be accessed via TV. It also said 'watch this space' as it would be announcing further Spotify offers in the future.
