First device in UK to use Android 4.0
The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone is due to be on shop shelves by the end of the month.
The phone will be the first device in the UK to use the latest Android 4.0 operating system (OS), commonly called Ice Cream Sandwich, which uses facial-recognition technology to unlock the phone. The OS is also fully integrated with Google's social networking system, Google +.
The device will cost around £500 without a SIM card and has a 4.65in high-definition screen that uses Samsung's new super AMOLED technology so content is visible outside in the brightest of conditions. The handset also has a 1.2Ghz dual core processor front and rear cameras, and supports HSPA+ and RX diversity.
The handset can be pre-ordered now from most networks on a range of different packages and mobile phone retailers
