Chinese manufacturer Huawei has released details of its new Android smartphone, the Ascend P1 S
Huawei have shown off the Ascend P1 S, a new super-slim smartphone, at CES 2012.
The Chinese company is perhaps best known for telecoms and networking technology, but has been developing more consumer products in recent years.
Huawei claims that the Ascend P1 S is the slimmest smartphone in the world, measuring just 6.68mm. The device has a 4.3 inch AMOLED screen and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It will run on the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Huawei also announced a similar device, the Ascend P1, which is identical to the P1 S but slightly thicker.
Both versions of the phone have an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front for making face-to-face video calls. The rear camera can also capture video in 1080p HD.
The Ascend P1 and P1 S will be available in black, white and pink when it launches worldwide in April 2012. Price details are yet to be announced.
