Gadget Show Live teams up with Anovo to offer trade-in service
Visitors who take the time and trouble to sort out their unwanted gadgets can swap them for cash at this year's Gadget Show Live (GSL).
The organisers of the show in Birmingham, running between 11-15 April, have teamed up with recycling firm Anovo UK, which will allow people to trade in gadgets including mobile phones, cameras and satnavs; even if they don't work.
Stephen Maxwell, the company's chief commercial officer, said: "We expect to be inundated with visitors looking to exchange their outdated gadgets, whether they work or not, they may still have a value.
"Spring is traditionally the best time to have a clear out, even better if you can turn your old clutter into cash."
The trade-in offer has been prompted by recent research from the Gadget Show Live, which showed that the average household in the UK is sitting on over £320 worth of unused gadgets and gizmos.
Anovo has set up a website where people can check the value of their gadgets before going to the show. If it has some value they can bring it along to the GSL Trade-in stand.
Sally Bent, the GSL marketing manager, said: "Giving our visitors the chance to exchange their old gadgets for new is a great way to help people to get their hands on the latest must-have tech, without breaking the bank."
Computeractive will also be at the show on 10 April, and you will be able to get a taster of what's in store when our reports from the GSL 2012 event go live.
