Five years support for new Linux Ubuntu.
The latest free operating system from Canonical, Ubuntu 12.04, will be released on 26 April and will receive updates for five years rather than the usual one and a half to three years.
Ubuntu 12.04 can be installed alongside Windows by splitting the hard disk or from within Windows using the Wubi tool.The office suite LibreOffice is installed with Ubuntu along with the Firefox web browser and photo and music managers.
The Ubuntu One software can be used to store documents and music online and share them with other computers.
